1
Teaching folks is such delight
When they realize
The value of their learning
As new things do arise
2
It sure has been my pleasure
Discovering new things
That men have searched for centuries
What delight that surly brings
3
For millenniums, and maybe more
They’ve searched for something new
That holds the Universe together
What is its basic glue?
4
For years they thought it’s gravity
That held things all together
But they didn’t know just how it worked
Like lead or like a feather
5
Even Newton didn’t know
He called it “action at a distance”
But eventually we got it right
It just took some persistence
6
But—
The answers never came to them
Of course I don’t know why
Maybe circumstances weren’t just right
For the right principles to apply
7
But now it’s all available
This knowledge that they sought
Maybe I could find it, ‘cause
It contradicts the things they taught.
8Anyway—
Science is developing
We don’t know all of it
But we keep on probing
‘till we see how all things fit.
9
It is a work in progress
We try with all our might
To find out how it all does work
To bring us such delight.
10
However—
when we know such things
It does, and surly should
Produce a responsibility
To use only for man’s good
11
Science isn’t good or bad
It’s the people who use it
So I hope that you will find
What goodness will permit
12
So I’ve made it easy
I hope it will excite
The inquisitive ones who look for it
Right here on my website
