An out-of-town gal on old Bourbon Street stood
as two caissons did pass close at hand.
The funeral procession included of course,
the widow... behind a jazz band.
Behind the poor widow and walking with them,
a long line of ladies together.
While the widow did grip, straining tight from each fist,
a pair of pit bulls on their tethers.
It sure did seem strange to the gal looking on,
so she walked to the lady in black.....

He limped on one leg, the other a peg,
spent most of his life out to sea.
A pub patron asked of the things in his past,
and what happened below his right knee?
Aye laddie! 'tis quite a starry, it 'tis!
We was out in the ragin' storm.
North Atlantic one night, and it sure was a fright,
With great whites all round in a swarm....

- During Soviet times came a teacher
an exchange person from the US.
The Soviet Instructor presented him,
then he made of the class this request:
"Since, we're now learning English literature,
Do give the right answer to me."
the Instructor demanded and soon reprimanded,
"What exactly is… Tragedy?".....

- With No-Name Café on its starboard side, and Jimmy's on its port,
Boston's Northern Avenue extends out on the wharf.
A delightful place to take your Dear, it's built upon a pier,
and back from it, just a bit, is an antique shop... quite queer.
A man went in, with a kind of a grin, looking round at that.
He found the strangest object there, a statue of a Rat.
'twas brass and shiny, well cared for, it really was a sight.
He asked the clerk how much it was, this Rat so clean and bright.
"So do you want the Rat itself, or the story behind the Rat?"....

in a pub called the "Irish Pup".
A middle-aged gent from across the sea,

a nice place it just happened to be,
with friendly folks and a dozen blokes
enjoying their Irish tea.
'twas Yogi who made us aware, we can
'observe' much by 'watching' each other.
But the things others see that are lurking in us,
have come from our father and mother.

Their folks are invited and friends get excited
to watch all their kids on the run.
